Preview: Sportel Rendez-vous Buenos Aires

The iconic Sportel Rendez-vous sports business conference heads to Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the first time, later this month, as the series makes its debut in a Spanish-speaking country.

The upcoming event at the Hilton Buenos Aires in that Argentinian city across May 14 and 15 will feature a series of exciting masterclasses, visionary keynotes, and innovative presentations, around the latest trends revolutionizing the sports and media broadcast industry.

Topics will cover the various new trends in streaming and digital content, evolutions in regional soccer, the global powerhouse of mixed martial arts, how AI is shaping the future of sports, Latin America as a hub for the pioneers of sports production, opportunities for in-play sports betting, the boom in women’s sports, event ticketing, fan engagement, and more.
The event will feature a stellar speaker line-up of decision-makers and technology disruptors, spanning not only those from North, South, and Central America, but also speakers from Europe and beyond.

Sportel Rendez-vous Buenos Aires follows a similar event in Bali, in February, with the main Sportel annual conference as usual set to take place in Monaco, in October.

The list of headline speakers currently includes Javier Tebas (president of Spanish soccer’s top-tier LaLiga), Peter Murray (chief executive of the Professional Fighters League), Guillermo Santa-Cruz, (vice president of Latin America and US Hispanic for IMG), José D’Amato (country manager for Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay at Mediapro), and Hernan Donnari, co-founder at 1190 Sports.

In general, vital insights on the future of the sports industry will be given throughout the two-day event. Conference sessions will be in both English and Spanish, with simultaneous translation available.

Event partners, meanwhile, include J & S EG, Lions Sports & Media, and ProEnter.

Major international sports properties to have representatives attending include Dorna Sports, ESPN, FIFA, IMG, Infront, the International Olympic Committee, Italian soccer’s Serie A, Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, English soccer’s Premier League, Saran Media Group, Sportradar, Stats Perform, Team Marketing, and Warner Bros. Discovery.
