The Professional Fighters League (PFL) US-based mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion has hired experienced industry executive Emilio Revelo as senior vice president of media strategy and distribution.
He joins the MMA organization from the World Wrestling Entertainment promotion, where he started in 2006. For the last 14 months there, he served as senior vice president and head of international.
Revelo will be tasked with global media deal expansion for the Bellator promotion which PFL acquired in November, and overseeing Canadian and Latin American distribution across all PFL franchises.
In addition, expansion in Latin America and growing the series’ Hispanic audience will be a specific part of his remit.
Revelo said: “I am pleased to be joining the Professional Fighters League, an organization with a clear vision for global growth. The PFL’s unique format allows fans greater connectivity to the athletes on both a regional and global scale.”
James Frewin, senior vice president of international at PFL, added: “Emilio’s vast industry experience and know-how will continue to push the PFL to the forefront of MMA globally.”
The 2024 PFL regular season began on April 4 in San Antonio, Texas, followed by events in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 12 and Chicago, Illinois on April 19.
PFL has 20 media distribution partners and is broadcast and streamed in 150 countries.
