Dunlop, the sports equipment and kit manufacturer, is set to provide tennis balls during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games after signing up as an official supplier.

The company was the sole supplier of tennis balls at the delayed Tokyo 2020 games and will hold the same designation at next year’s flagship event. Tennis competitions at the Olympics are set to run from July 27 to August 4, while Paralympic matches are scheduled for August 30 to September 7.

Roland-Garros, which plays host to the annual French Open grand slam tournament, is set to be the venue for both Olympic and Paralympic tennis competitions next year, with the International Tennis Federation overseeing both events.

The new deal adds to Dunlop’s tennis client list which includes the men’s ATP, which struck a five-year deal in 2019. Under that deal, which is due to expire at the end of this year, it has served as the official ball of the ATP Tour and the ATP Finals and has also supplied balls for clay court events including the Monte Carlo Masters, Madrid Open, and Internazionali BNL d’Italia.

Governing body Tennis Australia re-signed Dunlop as the official ball supplier of the Australian Open grand slam until at least 2028 earlier this year, despite widespread criticism over the quality of the balls being used at the tournament.

The Australian Open is the only grand slam using Dunlop balls, with Wilson remaining the official partner of the US Open and the French Open. The Wimbledon Championships has a long-running partnership with Slazenger.

Paris 2024 organizers have ramped up their partnership efforts with only a year to go until the Olympics start.

Last month, they pulled off a major coup by securing luxury French brand LVMH as a premium partner.
