On Location, the premium hospitality and events business owned by global sports and entertainment giant Endeavor, has invested in the Wiz-Team technology solution.
This investment, unveiled by On Location today, will involve Wiz-Team’s technology and software being integrated “across the On Location portfolio,” focusing on guest registration and communication, accreditation, accommodation, and access control.
On Location has said its work with Wiz-Team has already started through guest management around the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics, as well as American football’s iconic NFL Super Bowl. On Location was appointed as the exclusive hospitality service provider for the Olympic program in June 2021, to work with future local organizing committees to deliver hospitality experiences for spectators and Olympic stakeholders covering Paris 2024, the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Wiz-Team will use its existing sporting partnerships - across the Commonwealth Games, and with sailing’s SailGP - to aid it in this tie-up. The technology provider is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Melissa Bryan, On Location’s executive vice president of technology and strategy operations, has said: “Wiz-Team is the best in the business, and we have seen first-hand the game-changing impact their software and services have on large-scale events. Adding their innovative, scalable capabilities and technology to our global offerings will super-charge our guest experience and bolster our position as the ultimate end-to-end hospitality provider for sports, entertainment, and lifestyle events.”
Johann Woringer, the chief executive at Wiz-Team, added: “Very timely, On Location’s investment in Wiz-Team comes at a moment when we are scaling up considerably and planning to expand our presence in the US. We strongly believe that this strategic partnership is a perfect match and together, we will accelerate innovation and smart solutions in the hospitality space.”
Last week, On Location announced three senior executive hires to boost its Olympic and Paralympic Games leadership team.
The firm has appointed Isra Villalpando as senior vice president of operations and strategy, Adam Wixted as vice president of global sales development, and Allan Brooks as senior vice president and managing director for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Endeavor, the global entertainment, sport, and content company, completed the acquisition of a majority stake in On Location at the start of 2020, in a deal worth about $660 million, with the NFL also increasing its holding, from 16% to upwards of 20%.
