Nelonen, the Finnish commercial broadcaster, has acquired exclusive rights to the new 4 Nations Face-Off ice hockey tournament organised by the NHL and its players association.
The competition, featuring NHL stars from Finland, Sweden, Canada and the United States, will be shown exclusively on Nelose and Ruudu in Finland.
The nine-day tournament will be played from February 12 to 20, 2025.
The agreement with Nelonen represents the first broadcast deal in Europe for the new tournament.
NHL players representing Finland in the tournament include Sebastian Aho, Aleksander Barkov, Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell, Mikko Rantanen and Juuse Saros.
The 4 Nations Face-Off will feature a total of seven games - four at the Bell Center in Montreal, Canada and three games, including the championship game, at the TD Garden in Boston, USA.
All matches are played according to NHL rules in an NHL arena.
Each team plays three matches in the first round, where three points are awarded for a win in regular time, two points for a win in overtime or a shootout, one point for a loss in overtime or a shootout, and zero points for a loss in regular time.
The two teams with the most points in the preliminary series advance to the final.
