The agreement provides free-to-air exposure for the controversial breakaway golf circuit in a key territory.

The Saudi-backed LIV Golf series has secured its first media rights deal in the UK, announcing a partnership with commercial broadcaster ITV for the 2025 season.

The agreement provides free-to-air exposure for the controversial breakaway golf circuit in a key territory, having struggled to land broadcast partners in major global markets in its opening two seasons.

ITV’s coverage begins with round two of the season-opening LIV Golf Riyadh tournament currently taking place.

The tournament began yesterday (February 6) and will conclude on Saturday.

ITV will air 41 rounds of live golf coverage across 14 tournaments throughout the season on its ITVX streaming service.

ITVX will serve as the primary platform for LIV Golf, delivering live and full coverage of every round of every tournament, with selected live broadcasts on the linear ITV1 and ITV4 channels.

The weekly highlights show produced by LIV Golf will also be broadcast on ITV4.

Notably, LIV’s deal with ITV sees the return of live golf to free-to-air television in the UK.

The US PGA Tour and golf’s four majors are shown in the UK by major pay-TV broadcaster Sky.

The 2025 season will conclude with the Team Championship at LIV Golf Michigan from August 22 to 24. In between, LIV Golf will make stops in Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, Miami, Mexico City, South Korea, Washington DC, Dallas, Andalucia, the UK, Chicago, and Indianapolis.

Ron Wechsler, LIV Golf senior vice president of broadcast partnerships and programming strategy, said: "Our partnership with ITV represents a major milestone as we strive to bring LIV Golf to every corner of the world.”

Last month, LIV secured its most significant broadcast deal, striking a multi-year TV deal in the US with Fox Sports.

The series has also recently agreed deals with Coupang Play in South Korea, and Movistar Plus+ in Spain.
