Lionesses to remain on ITV in ‘record’ four-year renewal

The new deal sees ITV hold long-term rights to both England women and England men’s matches.

ITV, the UK commercial broadcaster, has renewed its deal with the English Football Association (FA) to remain the home of the women’s national team’s matches for another four years.

The deal, which covers the 2025-29 cycle, will see the broadcaster show all the Lionesses’ qualifying fixtures for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup and 2029 UEFA Women’s Euro, as well as the team’s UEFA Women’s Nations League campaigns and all international friendlies.

All games will continue to be free-to-air, with more than half of the matches each season to be shown on the main ITV1 channel, with the remainder available on ITV4 and the ITVX streaming service.

The existing four-year agreement (2021-2025) draws to a close at the end of the 2024-25 season.

The FA has described the new contract as a “record” deal.

ITV also recently signed a deal for live coverage of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 alongside the BBC, with every match broadcast in the UK on either ITV or the BBC, except for the final, which will be shown by both broadcasters.

The new deal sees ITV hold long-term rights to both England women and England men’s matches, with an agreement to show all of the men’s team’s European qualifiers, UEFA Nations League ties and friendlies between major tournaments from September 2024 through to June 2028 announced earlier this year.

ITV’s soccer portfolio also includes the FA Cup domestic knockout cup competition, although this will shift to pay-TV broadcaster TNT Sports from the 2025-26 season.

The commercial broadcaster additionally holds free-to-air rights to Spain’s top-flight LaLiga.
