The French Golf Federation and L’Equipe, the free-to-air digital terrestrial channel, have partnered to acquire domestic broadcast rights to US women’s golf’s LPGA for the next two seasons.

Through the agreement, the LPGA Tour will be available free-to-air on the L'Équipe live, Journal du Golf TV, and ffgolf TV platforms in France for the 2024 and 2025 campaigns.

A total of 30 LPGA tournaments will be shown, including two majors - the Chevron Championship and the Women's PGA Championship - and 300 hours of live broadcasts.

The LPGA Tour features several French players including world number three Céline Boutier, Perrine Delacour, and Agathe Laisné.

The 2024 LPGA season begins on Thursday (January 18) with the Tournament of Champions in Florida.

Pascal Grizot, president of the French Golf Federation, said: “The main mission of the federation is to develop golf in France. Participating in the acquisition of broadcasting rights alongside the L'Équipe group and the Journal du golf represented an opportunity to promote women's golf to as many people as possible at a particularly favorable time.

“The growing interest in Céline Boutier's results and the prospect of the Olympic Games are indeed levers to expose our sport more widely.”

The LPGA recently signed a new two-year rights deal with major sports broadcaster ESPN in the US through the 2025 season.
