The Los Angeles Rams franchise of American football’s National Football League (NFL) has announced a new partnership with sports technology company Genius Sports.
Through the deal, which will leverage Genius’s Next Gen Stats (NGS) data solution, AI-augmented highlights packages featuring live statistics powered by Next Gen Stats.
The highlights will be played during Rams home games at the team’s 70,240-capacity SoFi Stadium, on its 7,000 square-foot “infinity screen” that hangs above the field.
This partnership has also opened up a new piece of sponsorship inventory for the Rams with stadium partner Verizon, the telecommunications giant and a sponsor of the team and its stadium, now also sponsoring the Genius highlights packages through branding and logo integrations.
Speaking on the deal, Rams chief marketing officer Kathryn Kai-ling Frederick stated: “Since opening SoFi Stadium in 2020, we continuously look to team up with best-in-class companies to set the gameday standard at the Rams House.
“We are thrilled to work with Genius Sports to deliver this unprecedented experience to our fans and grateful to our partner Verizon for elevating this content.”
The Rams have seven home games remaining on the schedule for the 2024-25 NFL regular season, although they currently endure a 1-4 record at the time of writing and a slim chance of playoff contention.
Genius Sports president for North America Steve Bornstein added: “Connecting our partners and sports fans with the excitement of live sports through memorable experiences is intrinsic to our GeniusIQ offering.
“Our partnership with the Los Angeles Rams breaks new ground in sports fan engagement, combining immersive highlights and rich tracking insights for brands like Verizon. We’re delighted to showcase the enhanced value of Genius Sports with the NFL and the Rams.”
Genius has been the NFL’s official data partner since 2021, while Verizon has partnered the Rams and SoFi Stadium since the same year.
