The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has brought on board the Wonder Cement brand as a commercial partner for the Indian Premier League (IPL) men’s domestic Twenty20 competition.
Wonder Cement becomes the official umpire partner of the IPL, with the deal having been unveiled ahead of the beginning of the 2024 edition’s knockout stages yesterday (May 21).
The brand joins title sponsor Tata, Angel One, My11Circle, RuPay, and CEAT as central tournament partners.
It has been reported that the deal is for four years and that through this agreement Wonder Cement’s logo will receive exposure on LED advertising hoardings, the sight screens used at each end of the ground, and via the umpire’s caps and uniforms.
The previous umpire partner at the IPL was Paytm.
Wonder Cement gained its first exposure as an IPL partner during the match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Sunrisers Hyderabad yesterday, with the Kolkata side securing victory - and, thus, a place in the final on Sunday (May 26).
The trio of fantasy sports platform operator My11Circle, stockbroker technology firm Angel One, and card payment service RuPay all signed up as sponsors ahead of the start of the 2024 campaign in March.
