The organizers of padel’s high-profile Hexagon Cup tournament have extended their tie-up with padel court manufacturer Portico Sport.
Through a renewal unveiled today, Portico Sport will continue as the official court supplier for the 2025 Hexagon Cup, which will run between January 29 and February 2 at the Madrid Arena in the Spanish capital.
Portico, as it was earlier this year, will be responsible for constructing the purple court on which the 2024 edition took place.
In addition, this deal allows Portico Sport, based in the UK, to market its courts with Hexagon Cup branding.
Sergio Lewin, operations and sporting managing director for the event’s organizers, Padel 22, has now said: “Portico Sport courts are a global benchmark. They are market-leading facilities, which is why renewing the agreement was the only option for us. With its distinctive and approachable style, the Hexagon Cup court has already become an icon in the world of padel.”
Late last month, a new partnership was unveiled for the event with Spanish department store chain El Corte Inglés, which became the competition’s official ticketing platform and an official sponsor of the 2025 edition.
The event is described as padel’s first World Cup for private teams. It features men’s and women’s players competing in teams for an equal prize fund of €1 million ($1.08 million).
The second season will feature eight teams, up from six this year, with the additions of the Kru Padel by Taktika team, backed by Argentine soccer stars Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero, and 10 Padel led by Formula 1 driver, Pierre Gasly and the entrepreneur Loïc Féry.
Owners of the six original Hexagon Cup franchises include the tennis academy run by stars Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal, soccer player Robert Lewandowski, and Hollywood actress Eva Longoria.
