The 2024 edition of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the iconic French horse-racing event, will be shown by a record 37 broadcasters worldwide.

Coverage for the 103rd running of the famous fixture on Sunday (October 6) in Paris has been secured through HBA Media, the independent horse racing rights agency that serves as the global distribution partner for national governing body France Galop.

HBA’s offering to broadcasters includes the one-hour live magazine show – The Golden Hour – and the enhanced five-hour world feed produced by French horse racing platform Equidia, featuring the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and a collection of group 1 races.

Domestically, French commercial broadcaster M6 and television network BFM Paris will present the €5 million feature race. Domestic coverage will be supplemented by Equidia.

In the UK, commercial broadcaster ITV will return to broadcast the race live on ITV3. UK coverage is furthered by Sky Sports Racing, who will showcase the entire raceday.

Pan-European coverage has been secured through a first-time deal with the EBU’s OTT platform, Eurovision Sport, which will show the full world feed in 20 territories.

Other first-time broadcasters, meanwhile, include ESPN and Disney+ showing the event in 50 territories across Central and South America, AbemaTV, Fuji TV and The Green Channel (Japan), Sportsnet (Canada), Viaplay (Scandinavia and Netherlands), NTV (Mongolia), and SportsMax (Caribbean).

Additional European outlets include Virgin Media (Ireland), RAI (Italy), WeDoTV (Germany/Switzerland/Austria), Silknet (Georgia), Polsat (Poland), Kanal 75 (Sweden), and Setanta (Balkans and Eurasia).

In the US, national network Fox Sports will again show the racing, with FanDuel also providing regional coverage.

Australian viewers can watch free-to-air through Racing.com and Entain’s OTT channels, with the latter also available in New Zealand.

The Arc will be covered in Indonesia on TransVision’s linear and digital channels. Sony Pictures Network will showcase the Golden Hour across the Indian subcontinent.

For the Middle East, meanwhile, four broadcasters – DMI (MENA), BeIN Sports, Al Rayyan, and Al Kass (Qatar) - have all secured rights.

Finally, Reuters and SNTV will distribute content to news outlets and Sport24 will broadcast the Golden Hour on airlines and cruise lines. TransWorld Sports will include the race in their monthly magazine show.

Frank Sale, managing director of HBA Media, has said: “France Galop’s continual hard work and investment into the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is richly rewarded with a comprehensive global distribution.

“This strong distribution is the result of the Arc’s inclusion in the Crown Jewels Racing (CJR) broadcast package, which showcases 18 of the best horse racing events in the world.

“This collaboration of premium international horse racing has seen the introduction of eight first-time broadcasters and a total 37 media channels all providing significant exposure across multiple linear and digital networks.”
