Sports technology and data company Genius Sports has announced a new partnership with software company DVSport to furnish it with live college sports data.

As the official data distributor of the NCAA US collegiate sports governing body, Genius will provide DVSport with accompanying data for its instant replay and coaching software tools.

Genius Sports' data will heighten the efficiency of DVSport referee playback software, streamlining the process of in-game decision reviews and providing multiple video angles to expand its offering.

Brian Lowe, president and chief executive of DVSport, stated of the new commercial partnership: “Enhancing in-game and post-game video with the official data provided by Genius Sports will benefit all stakeholders immensely.

“From in-game DVSport Replay to Rewind bench video solutions for the players and coaches, to the officials’ breakdown of the game after it is over, DVSport’s partnership with Genius Sports is a great step forward across all sports.”

Genius Sports executive vice president for sport and partnership Matthew Cowling added: “Together, high-quality data and video can power outstanding solutions for officials, coaches, fans, and broadcasters.

“We’re excited to partner with DVSport, enhancing their proven officiating and coaching solutions with the highest quality data across the entire college sports calendar.”

Genius operates several data and technologies across the US sports spectrum.

Most recently, the firm announced a partnership with US women’s basketball’s top-tier WNBA competition to become its official optical tracking provider.

Through the deal, Genius’ Second Spectrum 3D optical tracking solution will be present at every WNBA game, delivering data to the league, its teams, and fans.
