US streaming television service FuboTV has announced the launch of a set of standalone premium subscription services, enabling its customers to subscribe to select live and on-demand content without a base Fubo channel plan.

FanDuel Sports Network (formerly Bally Sports Network), NBA League Pass, and Paramount+ With Showtime will be the first networks offered to customers as standalone subscriptions.

Subscribers will also receive Fubo Free, a collection of almost 200 free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels.

FanDuel Sports Network will continue to be available in Fubo’s Pro base plan, while NBA League Pass and Paramount+ With Showtime will continue to be available as add-on channel packages.

As part of the changes, Fubo will now offer three different channel plan tiers.

Fubo Free will be a foundational free tier of FAST channels available to former Fubo paid and free trial subscribers as well as subscribers of premium subscription services.

Those premium subscription services, which include both live linear and Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) services, can be purchased as standalones, meanwhile, and do not require the purchase of the main Fubo product.

Finally, Fubo will continue to offer its vMVPD channel plans that aggregate live sports, news, and entertainment alongside a Video on Demand (VOD) offering.

Fubo customers who subscribe to live linear subscription services will also receive Unlimited Cloud DVR and the ability to stream from multiple screens simultaneously.

David Gandler, co-founder and chief executive at Fubo, has said: “Consumers want flexible streaming options that lets them subscribe to only the content they want to watch.

“Our vision to be a super aggregator aims to give consumers a seamless way to access all of the content they love within the Fubo ecosystem and at appropriate price points.

“With the addition of standalone live and SVOD premium subscriptions, we believe offering multiple bundles, from skinny to fat, will put choice in the hands of our customers.”

In August FuboTV announced the launch of BKFC TV, a new free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel on its service in collaboration with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) bare-knuckle boxing promotion.

BKFC events past and present from its top-tier numbered events, its secondary Fight Nights, and its developmental Prospect Series, will all be shown on the FAST channel 24/7, with broadcasts jointly programmed by the two partners.

Back in January, Fubo acquired a minority stake in BKFC that saw it expand its coverage of the combat sports promotion which is owned by technology and combat sport streaming platform Triller.
