FloSports, the US-based OTT sports subscription service, has agreed a sub-licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) to provide live coverage of multiple cycling events in Canada.

Through the agreement, viewers in Canada will have access to more than 300 live broadcasts from road, mountain bike, and track races on FloBikes, FloSports’ cycling vertical.

This covers nearly 200 cycling events with almost 450 stages of live cycling throughout the year, including the Giro d’Italia and men’s and women’s UCI World Tour races such as Strade Bianche, Milan-San Remo, and Il Lombardia.

These events are in addition to FloBikes’ existing calendar of events that includes the Tour de France, La Vuelta Espana, Paris Roubaix, the Flanders Classics series of events, and the UCI World Championships.

In addition, a selection of BMX and cyclocross events will be available as well as every race on the UCI Mountain Bike World Series and the UCI Track Champions League.

The coverage on FloBikes will feature WBD’s English and French race commentary.

Trojan Paillot, senior vice president of sports rights acquisitions and syndications at WBD Sports Europe, said: “Our production and cycling expertise coupled with the accessibility and reach of the FloSports platform in Canada is an incredibly powerful proposition for consumers.

“We know Canadian cycling fans will enjoy the benefits of having all the races they love in one place and we look forward to providing a year-round content offer by working with FloSports.”

The announcement follows WBD’s move to bring its live cycling portfolio onto the Max streaming service in the US through its B/R Sports Add-On.

WBD first added a sports tier to Max last September as it looks to drive adoption and revenue. The media giant launched Max in early 2023, combining the content of both HBO Max and Discovery+ into a single service.
