Global soccer's governing body FIFA has today unveiled a memorandum of understanding with the organisers of the annual Homeless World Cup soccer tournament.

Through a deal between FIFA and the Homeless World Cup Foundation (HWCF), future editions of that event will be shown live on the FIFA+ streaming platform.

In addition, FIFA will also supply material and equipment to the HWCF.

This tie-up has been unveiled with 50 days to go before the 2024 edition of the tournament, which will run between September 21 and 28 in Seoul, Korea Republic.

The two parties will also explore “co-branding opportunities, including on the pitch side at the venues,” as well as through digital platforms.

FIFA+ was launched in April 2022, as a direct-to-consumer platform that provides access to a range of content, including live matches, archive fixtures, original feature programming, and a live match center.

In late June, it was reported that FIFA was seeking investment of up to $2 billion to expand the service, with reports suggesting the governing body has been working with UBS, the multinational investment bank.
