Formual 1 (F1), the iconic open-wheel motor racing series, has renewed and expanded its partnership with technology firm Lenovo.
Through the multi-year extension, the tech giant now becomes a global partner of F1 from the 2025 edition onwards in a deal that extends to Lenovo’s Motorola brand, which becomes the official smartphone of the series.
The phones, as well as Lenovo computers, tablets, monitors, and other work technology, will be provided to F1 staff.
Lenovo and F1 first partnered ahead of the 2022 season, and since then the company has furnished F1 with hardware devices, high-performance computing and server solutions that have been utilized across operations.
F1 also uses Lenovo’s AI solutions to enhance broadcast efficiency on-track and remotely.
That will continue under the renewed deal, as will the provision of Lenovo’s on-premises data collection solutions to help F1 maintain the quality of its offering.
The Lenovo partnership also supports F1’s sustainability strategy through its asset recovery service, which aids in the recycling of obsolete computer hardware, with 95% of such hardware disposed of safely by Lenovo since the partnership began.
