US broadcaster Fox Sports has agreed a three-year broadcast deal with hydrogen-powered off-road racing series Extreme H.

The deal will begin with Extreme H’s inaugural 2025 season, which will mark the series’ transition from all-electric Extreme E, and run through the 2027 campaign.

Fox Sports’ primary FS1 and secondary FS2 channels have shown the series in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean since its inaugural season in 2021, as well as across southeast Asia and Australia.

FS1 and FS2 will continue as the home of Extreme H, which itself will retain Extreme E’s race formats.

Speaking on the deal, Extreme E/Extreme H managing director Ali Russel stated: “We’re delighted to continue our collaboration with Fox Sports and expand our relationship to include Extreme H. Hydrogen is the future of clean mobility, and FS1/FS2 will play a vital role in bringing this next-generation motorsport to American fans.”

The final races of the 2024 Extreme E season, its last, were recently cancelled with its operators opening up an abrupt search for new locations.

Events in Sardinia (Italy) and the US (which would have been the series’ debut in the country), were cancelled with Extreme E stating it is “reviewing alternative solutions for its remaining rounds.

The Sardinia race was scheduled to take place in September and the US event in November.

So far, Extreme E events in 2024 have taken place in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and Scotland.
