Euroleague Basketball, the organizer of top European club competitions, has extended its partnership with OlyBet, the online betting operator in the Baltic countries, for two seasons.

Under the renewed deal, the brand will be a premium partner for both the top-tier EuroLeague and second-tier EuroCup club competitions until the end of the 2024-25 season.

This follows an agreement between the two parties earlier this year in which OlyBet was named as a sponsor of the EuroLeague’s Final Four championship finale in Lithuania last season.

Over the next two seasons, OlyBet will receive prominent brand visibility on all Euroleague Basketball assets.

OlyBet will also become the new premium sponsor for both the EuroLeague and EuroCup in Lithuania, Spain, Estonia, and Latvia until the end of the 2024-25 season.

Euroleague Basketball and OlyBet will develop a list of activations focused on digital and fan engagement.

Paulius Motiejunas, Euroleague Basketball chief executive, said: “We are excited to strengthen our ties with OlyBet Group, a dynamic and forward-thinking partner that shares our passion for European basketball.

“I've witnessed the impact of OlyBet Group's involvement in European basketball firsthand. This extended partnership promises an exciting future for fans and the sport alike."

Corey Plummer, the chief executive of OlyBet Group, added: “We are driven by a shared vision of elevating the sports entertainment experience for fans. This partnership with Euroleague Basketball marks a significant milestone in our journey.

“Together with Euroleague Basketball, we are excited to set new standards for engagement and entertainment in European basketball.”

Sports industry becoming increasingly vulnerable to cyber attacks

The world of sport is an extremely lucrative one, which therefore makes it a prime target for hackers. A report from the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre in 2020 found that 70% of sporting organizations were subject to at least one attack every year. Microsoft recently declared that sporting events and venues are becoming increasingly vulnerable to cyber-attacks. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Microsoft observed several attack attempts on connected systems through identity-based attacks.
