Dubai-based airline Emirates has today announced a five-year renewal of its long-running sponsorship of the Australian Open tennis grand slam.
Through an extended deal with the Tennis Australia governing body, the carrier will remain the official airline of the tournament until 2029.
Emirates first partnered with Tennis Australia in 2015 and marked a decade as an Australian Open sponsor at this year’s edition.
The airline’s tennis sponsorship portfolio also includes the US Open, French Open, and Wimbledon grand slams, as well as 60 other tournaments across the year through its partnership with the men’s top-tier ATP Tour.
This year, Emirates will also maintain its sponsorship of the AO Ballpark, and will further activate the sponsorship through fan engagement.
From 2025, the partnership will extend outside of the Australian Open and focus on community initiatives.
Emirates and the Australian Tennis Foundation have teamed up on an initiative funded by the airline’s ‘Force for Good’ program. The carrier will invest $2.25 million over five years to support disadvantaged children and young people through tennis.
Craig Tiley, Australian Open tournament director and Tennis Australia CEO, has said: “We are delighted to continue our longstanding partnership with Emirates, which has been a cornerstone of the Australian Open and Tennis Australia for more than a decade.”
Emirates has sponsorship deals across several sports and recently renewed its deals with golf’s DP World Tour and the SailGP series.
The 2025 Australian Open will begin on January 12 and conclude on January 26.
