Dream11, the digital fantasy sports platform, has extended its partnership with North American basketball’s NBA (men's) and WNBA (women's).

Under a multi-year renewal, Dream11 will continue as the official fantasy gaming partner of the leagues.

The extension builds on Dream11 and the NBA’s tie-up that began in the 2017-18 season with the launch of the league’s first official fantasy game in India.

As part of the new deal, fans in India can compete daily in a variety of public and private NBA and WNBA-themed fantasy games.

Simulating the role of a general manager, fans can construct a virtual team of NBA or WNBA players and accumulate points based on the players’ real-life on-court performances.

Rajah Chaudhry, NBA India country head, said: “With India being one of the fastest growing markets in the world for fantasy gaming, bolstering our presence in this space has been a key focus for us over the last few years.

“We have seen a significant increase in fan engagement since the launch of our official fantasy game on Dream11, and as we embark on this continued journey together, we look forward to pushing the boundaries of innovation in fantasy gaming and providing fans with even more exciting ways to connect with the NBA and WNBA.”

Dream11 has developed a vast portfolio of sports partnerships in recent years, predominantly in cricket.

It was recently named the official fantasy sports partner of the SA20 domestic men’s Twenty20 (T20) competition in South Africa.

The brand is also currently the lead sponsor of the Indian men’s and women’s national cricket teams and among several partners of the inaugural Women’s Premier League T20 franchise competition.
