Global logistics heavyweight DP World has expanded its already-significant presence in golf by extending an agreement with the iconic men's Ryder Cup, through 2027.
DP World already put its name to the European Tour series, in a deal unveiled in November 2021, while its initial agreement covering the Ryder Cup - which takes place once every two years as a teams competition between Team Europe and Team USA - was announced in July last year and only covered the 2023 edition in Rome, Italy.
This new tie-up, however, reached through a deal with Ryder Cup Europe and the PGA of America, runs through the 2025 (Bethpage, New York) and 2027 (Adare Manor, Ireland) editions.
At those events, DP World will be present through an experiential fan zone.
The three organizations have said they are also now “working to implement industry-leading supply chain solutions to help add the 2025 Ryder Cup to the lengthening list of memorable moments in golf history.”
Jeff Price, the PGA of America’s chief commercial officer, has commented: “DP World has been an invaluable partner in helping elevate the Ryder Cup experience on a global scale. Their expertise in logistics and supply chain solutions ensured the smooth operation of the event, enabling organizers to focus on delivering a world-class experience for those in attendance.”
GlobalData Sport valued the 2023 DP World-Ryder Cup deal as worth $5 million.
Other major commercial partners of the 2025 edition, meanwhile, include Aon, Rolex, BMW, Citi, and Capgemini.
Europe won the 2023 edition of the event to reclaim the Ryder Cup, triumphing by a final margin of 16 1/2 to 11 1/2 points.
Outside of golf, DP World is also a major partner of the International Cricket Council’s major events portfolio, and of cricket’s ILT20 United Arab Emirates franchise league.
