Deloitte, the global professional services firm, has expanded its worldwide Olympic partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The company will take on the role of games technology integration partner for the Olympic Games, the Paralympics, and the Youth Olympics.

The agreement will cover the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina and 2030 edition in the French Alps, as well as the summer games in Los Angeles in 2028 and Brisbane in 2032.

Deloitte will help advance the IOC’s vision of “establishing a new integrated technology infrastructure and games platform to enhance and secure the Olympic and Paralympic Games’ technology operations for the future.”

In April 2022, Deloitte was named as a worldwide Olympic partner, part of the TOP (The Olympic Partners) partner program, in a decade-long agreement covering five games through 2032.

Deloitte was selected as the games technology integration partner for Milano Cortina 2026 onwards, following a competitive tender process undertaken by the IOC.

In this expanded role, Deloitte will design, build, implement, operate, and secure the technology integration, application development, and cybersecurity services from 2026 to 2032.

The firm will “lead the technological transformation of the Olympic Games and continue to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.”

Deloitte will also support the IOC in the implementation of the Olympic Agenda 2020 recommendations related to optimizing delivery of the Olympics by developing technology that can be customized for each Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Ilario Corna, the IOC’s chief information and technology officer, stated: “Our commitment to being at the forefront of technological advancement is unwavering, and with Deloitte as our games technology integration partner, we are poised to reach new heights.

“Ensuring the robustness, efficiency, and sustainability of our IT infrastructure is essential for the seamless execution of the Olympic Games. This foundation not only guarantees operational excellence, but also plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance of our athletes and delivering an unforgettable experience to a global audience.

“Since 2022, Deloitte has been instrumental in our digital transformation journey. Their expertise and innovative approach have helped us navigate the ever-evolving landscape of technology with confidence and agility."

"Together with Deloitte, we are excited to explore new possibilities and drive forward the future of technology in sport.”

Deloitte is also helping the IOC to facilitate the development of the Olympic AI Agenda.

The company is, in addition, the official services provider for the LA 2028 games as part of a seven-year sponsorship deal with the Los Angeles 2028 organizing committee.

Earlier this year, global drinks conglomerate Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) became an IOC TOP partner, becoming the first beer brand to do so.

Other TOP partners include Airbnb, Alibaba, Allianz, Atos, Bridgestone, Coca-Cola, Intel, Omega, Panasonic, P&G, Samsung, Toyota, and Visa.

With the Paris 2024 Olympics concluding yesterday, attention will now switch to the Paralympics which begin on August 28.
