DAZN, the international sports streaming service, has unveiled Sara Pastor as senior vice president for advertising media sales in Spain and Portugal.
She most recently worked as head of agency development for Spain at Amazon, while before that she served as the country director for Spain and Portgual at Twitch Ads.
DAZN has said she will be responsible for “the growth of the platform’s advertising revenues in both markets.”
The streaming heavyweight holds rights to a significant portfolio of sports in Spain, including domestic LaLiga soccer, motorsport series such as Formula 1 (F1) and MotoGP, and a wide range of boxing events. DAZN launched in Spain in February 2019.
In Portugal, meanwhile, the platform acquired existing broadcaster Eleven Sports last year and has since taken over its portfolio. In early May, it struck a three-year F1 deal in that market, while it also covers LaLiga through an agreement unveiled in April.
Walker Jacobs, DAZN’s chief global revenue officer, said: “Sara brings tremendous experience building and leading great sales and partnership teams. She has an extensive roster of important industry relationships and has successfully partnered with many of the most iconic brands and their agencies to build award-winning advertising programs.”
Pastor added: “I am very excited to join the DAZN team in Spain and Portugal to help brands create emotional and lasting connections with their customers through a shared passion for sport. Thanks to the growing community of fans who choose DAZN to enjoy the sports they love, brands have a unique opportunity to turn fans into customers and also into ambassadors for their products.”
