DAZN Bet, the sports betting and igaming subsidiary of sports streaming service DAZN, has launched in Germany for the first time, in partnership with online casino service provider Pragmatic Solutions.

DAZN Bet was awarded a betting license in Germany after linking up with Pragmatic Solutions’ compliance capabilities, which accelerated its entrance into the market. Specifically, DAZN Bet utilized Pragmatic’s player account management  platform, which provides options for fraud detection and anti-money laundering requirements.

DAZN said its offering in the region will have “extensive” self-regulation tools and up-to-date software to detect “problem gambling.”

Mark Kemp, DAZN Bet chief executive, said: “Going live in another market further cements DAZN Bet’s strategy of establishing an integrated brand & advertising partnership between DAZN and DAZN Bet in DAZN’s major Global markets.”

He added: “Beyond their strong platform technology and innovation, in highly regulated markets Pragmatic Solutions have also delivered all the complex regulatory compliance requirements to build DAZN Bet on, essential for our successful market entries across Europe.”

This launch marks DAZN Bet’s fourth market entry across Europe in the past 13 months. DAZN Bet has already launched in the UK, Spain, and Italy, all utilizing Pragmatic Solutions’ technology.

In April 2022, DAZN revealed that it would partner with Pragmatic for DAZN Bet’s launch. At the time, DAZN chief executive Shay Segev stated: “The convergence of sports media and betting is the future.”

In March 2023, DAZN Bet agreed a deal with the European branch of the Professional Fighters League (PFL) to become its premium partner until the end of 2023.

As part of the partnership, DAZN Bet will provide original content and innovative products for fans of the PFL. It will also gain brand exposure throughout the league’s in-stadia and media assets throughout the season, with the DAZN Bet logo appearing on the canvas across all four PFL Europe events.
