Technology, media, and entertainment company Cosm has secured the right to broadcast games from American football’s National Football League in 'shared reality' at its locations for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Cosm will showcase games at its two current locations, Los Angeles, California, and Dallas, Texas, with its facilities boasting 12K+ LED screens inside 360-degree domes that it stated gives viewers a “fully immersive” experience.

A third Cosm facility has been planned for Atlanta, Georgia, with further also expected.

Cosm will produce feeds for this at its research and development facility in Salt Lake City, Utah, drawing from both the host broadcaster’s feed as well as its own 360 and 210-degree cameras station at NFL fixtures.

This comes from its ‘shared reality’ format that it claims “bridges the virtual and physical worlds without the need for headsets or augmented devices.”

Each facility hosts around 700 people and utilizes dynamic pricing to maximize revenue in times of high demand.

This partnership will begin with this week's Thursday Night Football (TNF) matchup between the Houston Texans and New York Jets.

The expansive NFL deal will see Cosm broadcast the entirety of streaming service Amazon Prime’s TNF slate, sports network ESPN’s Monday Night Football games, and all Sunday night games on national network NBC with select additional Sunday night fixtures from national broadcaster Fox.

Cosm already has existing deals with each of these broadcasters individually for their sports rights which in the past has included coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, and this latest move brings them all together for their collective NFL rights.

Sport is the core of Cosm’s offering, as indicated by similar deals with basketball’s National Basketball Association (NBA) and mixed-martial arts promotion UFC in 2023.

The NBA was, at the time, the first professional sports league to partner with Cosm.

Cosm is also partnered with the TNT Sports broadcaster to showcase its sports rights that include NBA games, the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs, and a number of soccer matches involving the US men’s and women’s national teams.
