Chelsea, the English Premier League soccer club, has renewed and expanded its partnership with global analytics software firm FICO.
The deal extends the firm’s partnership with the Chelsea men’s team through the West London club’s US pre-season tour this summer while expanding to add the women’s team for their inaugural pre-season tour of the east coast of the US also taking place this summer.
The partnership centers around a series of collaborative events in the seven cities the teams are set to visit as part of FICO’s Fields of Financial Empowerment tour, which involves financial education workshops in each location undertaken in tandem with the US Soccer Foundation.
Casper Stylsvig, chief revenue officer for Chelsea said: “We are delighted to be extending our partnership with FICO as we make the final preparations for our pre-season tour in the US. It’s important to us to engage deeply with the communities we’re fortunate to visit in the States, so to have the opportunity to continue the work we started last summer is a very positive step.”
Last month, Chelsea announced the continuation of their partnership with sports data firm Infinite Athlete next season, but it is not yet clear if it will retain its role as the club's front-of-shirt sponsor.
Infinite Athlete has confirmed that it will at least continue as the Premier League side's shirt sponsor through pre-season, however, talks are still ongoing as to whether it will continue into the 2024-25 campaign, or whether the deal will turn into a shirt sleeve sponsorship instead, at a lower price.
