US medical institution Cedars-Sinai has announced a partnership with the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, US (LA28).

As part of the deal, the company will serve as the official medical provider for the 2028 games.

The agreement entails the provision of medical care for athletes, coaches, team personnel, and visitors who travel for the Olympics.

Cedars-Sinai will also be a medical adviser to LA28 via establishing medical services in the Olympic and Paralympic village and at sporting venues for the games.

The firm is one of nine medical institutions in the USOPC’s Medical Network, and has already begun offering care for Team USA athletes. Cedars-Sinai is its exclusive provider in Los Angeles and surrounding areas of Southern California.

Last month Autodesk, the multinational software firm, signed up as a partner of LA28, while US retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods was brought in as the games’ official sporting goods retail provider (Dick’s also now holds that role for the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee).

In June, meanwhile, wireless technology and communications firm Cisco extended its association with the summer Olympics by signing a deal to become the network equipment partner of the Los Angeles games.

The 2028 games in California will be Los Angeles’ third time hosting the Olympics (previously 1984 and 1932) and the first time hosting the Paralympics.
