The Confederation of African Football (CAF) governing body and Orange, the international telecoms operator, have extended their long-term partnership until 2025.

The renewed agreement will cover the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in the Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco, and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Orange has been an exclusive telecommunications partner to the federation since 2008.

CAF president Patrice Motsepe said: “Orange has been a great supporter and partner of African Football for many years. We are excited to continue working together with Orange to make African Football amongst the best in the world and self-supporting.

“The Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast is expected to be watched by over 800 million people and we are delighted that Orange is our partner for this competition and the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Our partnership with Orange will also support the development and growth of women’s football on the African Continent.”

This year's Africa Cup of Nations is being title-sponsored by energy firm TotalEnergies through a major eight-year deal struck in 2016.

Other sponsors include Ivorian firm Smart Technology and motorcycle firm Apsonic, while the African soccer body recently unveiled sponsorship deals with international credit card giant Visa and with the Visit Saudi tourism board.

These tie-ups came after CAF appointed sports and entertainment giant IMG as its global sponsorship agency until 2025.
