BYD, the transportation solutions firm, has been unveiled as the latest sponsor of Copa America, South America’s national teams soccer tournament.
The deal was struck with South American soccer’s governing body Conmebol ahead of the tournament in the US from June 20 to July 14.
Conmebol has announced several commercial partners for Copa America in recent weeks including hospitality agency Absolut Sport, international consumer products giant Unilever, and betting brand Betano.
Other sponsors for the competition include Mastercard, Michelob Ultra, Puma, and Lowe's.
BYD will have a presence at two major international tournaments as it will also sponsor the upcoming UEFA European Championship in Germany.
The 48th edition of the 16-team Copa America will return to the US for the first time since 2016 when that tournament set a new attendance record with nearly 1.5 million fans.
The competition will be played across 14 cities in the US.
