BeIN Sports, the international pay-TV sports broadcaster, has renewed its exclusive rights deal for the Wimbledon grand slam tennis tournament in France until 2028.
Through the five-year extension, struck with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC), the Qatar-owned network retains a contract it has held since 2014.
This year’s edition will see BeIN provide full coverage of Wimbledon for a 10th straight year. The broadcaster will provide coverage across two dedicated channels, including one ‘multicourt’ channel.
In addition, BeIN will air a daily show to recap the action from each day of the tournament.
Wimbledon will this year run from July 1 to July 14.
Yousef Al-Obaidly, president of BeIN Sports France and group chief executive of BeIN Media Group, said: “This is fantastic news for our subscribers, with Wimbledon being the centerpiece of our international tennis offering.
“We have built a vibrant business over recent years, based on a brilliant portfolio of sports rights and guided by a rational and long-term business plan.”
BeIN’s tennis portfolio in France also includes the Billie Jean King Cup, the Davis Cup, and the women's WTA Tour circuit.
The BeIN deal is the latest to be struck by the AELTC in a major European market after recently announcing an agreement with the Amazon Prime Video global streaming service in Germany and Austria until 2027.
