The broadcaster will retain exclusive rights in the region for the next five years.

International sports broadcaster BeIN Sports has renewed its exclusive deal to show the Australian Open tennis grand slam in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) ahead of the start of the 2025 edition.

The Qatar-based operator has agreed a new five-edition rights deal with the Tennis Australia governing body through to 2029.

BeIN will continue to broadcast the Australian Open in 24 countries across the MENA region.

Building on a long-standing partnership that started with a seven-year deal in 2018, the new multi-year agreement starts with the upcoming 2025 tournament, which will run from January 12 to 26, and will continue for a further four editions.

Under the renewed deal, BeIN will expand access to all 15 match courts and provide 4K broadcasts from the Rod Laver Arena.

Coverage of the season-opening grand slam will also include lead-in events and qualifying managed by Tennis Australia.

The new deal strengthens BeIN’s position as the home of tennis in the MENA region as it also holds rights to the other three grand slam tournaments – the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open - as well as ATP events.

Cedric Cornelis, Tennis Australia chief commercial officer, has said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with BeIN, a long-term valued broadcast partner of the Australian Open. This extension means the Australian Open will continue to find new audiences globally.”
