The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) governing body has announced an agreement with Indian insurance provider SBI Life to become an official partner through 2026.
SBI Life has signed a three-year deal to serve as a sponsor of BCCI domestic and international cricket.
This will include supporting the Indian men's team during the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup on home soil.
The deal will begin with India's three-match one-day international series against Australia, which India is also hosting, set to begin tomorrow (September 22).
The agreement comes amid a busy commercial period for the BCCI, which recently began the process of identifying commercial partners for the next cycle of its events.
Earlier this month (September), the governing body released a request for quotation “for official partner rights for BCCI events.” It invited bids “from reputed entities” for these events, with the necessary request for quotation documents being made available to purchase until September 13.
This came just after the BCCI struck a sponsorship deal with IDFC First Bank in August, for the private sector financial institution to become the title sponsor of top-tier BCCI national and domestic cricket from the 2023-24 season onwards. IDFC succeeds the previous sponsor Mastercard.
In August, the BCCI also partnered with ticket sales site BookMyShow, which will now be the official ticketing platform for the World Cup.
The World Cup, composed of 48 one-day international matches, will take place in India between October 5 and November 19.
