AXA, the international insurance giant, has today been unveiled as a commercial partner of the UEFA Women’s European Championships national team soccer tournament in 2025.
Through a deal with UEFA, soccer’s governing body on the continent, AXA becomes an official global partner of the event, which will be held across eight host cities in Switzerland between July 2 and 27 next year.
The insurance heavyweight joins an already-sizeable stable of global partners for the Women’s Euro - Amazon, Booking.com, EA, Euronics, Grifols, Heineken, Hublot, Just Eat Takeaway.com, Lay's, PlayStation, and Visa (the first partner on board).
AXA, meanwhile, is already the title sponsor of the Swiss top-tier Women’s Super League, and has been since 2021-22, as well as of the main knockout cup competition in that country.
In addition, the brand is the global training partner of English men’s Premier League heavyweights Liverpool, and recently extended that deal until at least 2029.
This UEFA-AXA tie-up involves the brand sponsoring the volunteer program for the Women’s Euro.
The Swiss cities chosen to host games are Basel, Bern, Geneva, Zurich, St. Gallen, Sion, Lucerne, and Thun.
In 2017, UEFA separated its women’s sponsorship packages from those for the men’s game for the first time.
