Avis, the US car rental company, has extended its long-standing partnership with golf’s top-tier PGA Tour until 2028.
The multi-year year renewal will see the brand maintain its role as the official rental car company of the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions, and Korn Ferry Tour.
The agreement will entail Avis continuing to provide rental vehicles for players, caddies, employees, and fans at PGA Tour-sanctioned events worldwide.
Avis has been an official marketing partner and the preferred rental car company of the PGA Tour since 2011.
Through the extended partnership, the rental car provider will also engage with PGA Tour fans across the FedEx Cup season.
Additionally, Avis has announced eight-time PGA Tour event winner Xander Schauffele as a brand ambassador.
The company has agreed a two-year deal with the Olympic gold medallist.
Schauffele recently won the PGA Championship to claim his first major.
Last month (May), the PGA Tour named outdoor barbecue and cooking equipment provider Blackstone as a marketing partner under a deal also running through 2028.
The tour’s portfolio of high-profile commercial partners also includes soft drinks giant Coca-Cola, tractor and utility vehicle manufacturer John Deere, and watch brand Rolex.
In February, the PGA Tour extended its tie-up with the Omni Hotels & Resorts chain in a multi-year agreement, also to 2028, through which Omni provides benefits to players.
The organization also recently launched PGA Tour Enterprises, a commercial venture powered by $3 billion of investment from US consortium Strategic Sports Group (SSG).
Businessman Joseph Gorder was elected as chair of the body in May, described as a first-of-its-kind program, through which nearly 200 PGA Tour members will have the opportunity to become equity holders in PGA Tour Enterprises.
