Arsenal, the English Premier League soccer giants, have announced a new partnership with digital e-commerce platform ComAve.
ComAve becomes Arsenal’s official e-commerce marketplace partner, and will erect a new online sale platform for the club.
This platform will allow Arsenal to offer merchandise, host interactive games, and enact a loyalty scheme, for fans worldwide to engage in.
Through the multi-year deal, ComAve’s platform will also allow Arsenal fans to engage with the club’s partners by offering shopping experiences with affiliate retailers globally.
Speaking on the deal, ComAve regional managing partner Jassim Sulaiti stated: “Arsenal is a leading global club, and partnering with them is a major milestone for ComAve.
“Our mission is to redefine the retail experience and strengthen supporter engagement, and this partnership is the perfect opportunity to support us with that."
ComAve provides digital e-commerce services to several top soccer clubs across Europe, most recently announcing partnerships with Spanish soccer giants Atletico Madrid, French side Lyon, Dutch side Ajax, and Italian Serie A giants AC Milan and AS Roma.
Elsewhere in the Premier League ComAve is also partnered with Arsenal’s fellow London club Crystal Palace.
Earlier in 2024, Sportcal spoke to ComAve’s Karl Martin about the importance of e-commerce in soccer and how clubs can improve their commercial outlooks, with the former saying “Clubs are excellent at monetizing fans on match days and at the start of the seasons, when they buy the shirt for the upcoming campaigns, but where they fall down is not understanding their customers consumer habits 365 days a year.
“By creating a bespoke collaborative marketplace with the clubs, we can help them understand their customers better and monetize them throughout the year. We're an everyday spending platform.”
Explaining how this in turn drives fan engagement, he continued: “We have a very collaborative marketing strategy which is aligned with the clubs. In addition to that, we have a blockchain based program which rewards and incentivize customers for spending on our platform.
“We also have gamification pieces [such as] guessing the scores of matches [or] raffles giveaways, all things which enhance the fans experience of the club.”
Arsenal, meanwhile, brought in Japanese technology service corporation NTT Data as a sponsor in a multi-year deal earlier this month.
The 2023-24 Premier League runners-up, have the following brands as their main sponsors: adidas, Emirates, Sobha Realty, and Visit Rwanda.
