Argentina Football Distribution (AFD), a company formed by the alliance between the Torneos and 1190 Sports agencies, has announced new and extended international distribution agreements for Argentine soccer’s top-flight Liga Profesional de Fútbol (LPF).
Through a new multi-platform deal with international sports media and marketing agency Spring Media, key matches from the LPF will for the first time be shown in South Africa via SportyTV, the African sports broadcaster, and will extend its presence in Nigeria and Ghana until the end of the 2026 season.
The agreement comprises two live matches per round which will include Boca Juniors and River Plate matches in the LPF and Copa de la Liga domestic cup competition and seven Copa playoffs, totaling 89 matches.
In Europe, AFD has renewed its partnership with D-Smart in Turkey until the end of the 2026 season, which includes four live matches per round, also featuring Boca and River games in the league and cup and seven Copa playoffs, totaling 171 matches.
AFD holds the international multi-platform broadcasting rights for the Argentine Professional Football League for the 2021-2032 period.
The firm has secured broadcast deals for the league in more than 185 territories.
AFD was launched in early 2021 by the Torneos agency and Global Sports Rights Management (GSRM), a consortium formed by Latin American media executives, to exclusively manage the global commercialization of multi-platform rights to the LPF after agreeing an international media rights deal with the AFA, the national federation.
In 2021, GSRM merged with Chilean entity 1190 Sports to create a single firm serving the South American soccer market.
