The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has extended its media rights tie-up in Indonesia with the MNC media group, for the 2025-28 competitions cycle.

Through the deal, all major AFC competitions - men’s and women’s, club and national team - will be shown live by MNC during the next four years, in the territories of Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Timor-Leste.

This tie-up comes as a renewal of the previous MNC-AFC partnership, unveiled in October 2019 and which runs through until the end of this year.

In terms of competitions covered, the list includes the Asian qualifiers in advance of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the men’s (2027) and women’s (2026) Asian Cups, the men’s and women’s Champions League club competitions, and the men’s second-tier Champions League Two.

MNC will broadcast all matches played by the Indonesian team during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and at the Asian Cup free-to-air on linear channels.

The deal was secured by Asia Football Group (AFG), the commercial partner of the AFC. AFG holds exclusive commercial rights for AFC properties across the 2023-28 cycle.

Late last month, the AFC unveiled an extension with Football Australia (the governing body of soccer in that country), which in turn has renewed with the Australian broadcast arm of the Paramount media giant.

Football Australia will continue as the official rightsholder of all major AFC national team competitions in the country, which it will continue to deliver through the Paramount partnership.

In terms of MNC’s stable of top-tier soccer rights, late August saw the broadcaster snap up free-to-air, pay-TV, and streaming rights to Germany's Bundesliga.

MNC also recently provided coverage of the national team UEFA European Championship in Germany.
