Australia’s top-tier soccer league organizer A-Leagues has announced the renewal and expansion of its media data partnership with sports technology firm Stats Perform.
Through the deal, broadcasts from the men’s and women’s A-League competitions will continue to leverage Stats Perform’s Opta video solutions for AI-powered enhancement of its in-house content.
This means that A-League video content will continue to use Opta-powered data feeds and interactive widgets to heighten the experience for viewers.
Furthermore, A-Leagues will now also gain access to Opta Search, Stats Perform’s advanced video editing and storytelling apparatus, and Opta Stream, its AI-powered live game update generation software.
A-Leagues will continue to distribute Opta-enhanced content across its aleagues.com.au website, the A-Leagues mobile app, A-Leagues social media channels, and in particular its hub on video content platform YouTube.
The addition of further Opta integration into A-Leagues operations also increases the sponsorship inventory that the body can offer across its outlets.
Speaking on the announcement, A-Leagues chief commercial officer Ned Negus stated: “By leveraging Opta's real-time data, insights and products, our content team will be able to showcase key statistics, player performances and milestones in a visually stunning and informative manner, and our commercial teams are delighted with the additional high-quality inventory created for our sponsors.”
Stats Perform chief revenue officer Steve Xeller added: “We’re pleased to meet A-Leagues’ requirements for detailed, trusted, reliable data and products to drive fan and sponsor growth across the A-League Men and A-League Women.
“I’m particularly excited about their addition of Opta Stream and Opta Search - they’re among our newest AI-powered products and have already broken records for customers in Europe, boosting them to the top of search engines and attracting enormous user numbers.”
The 2024-25 A-League Men season will begin on October 18, and run through May 31, 2025, while the A-League Women season will take place from November 1 through May 17, 2025.
