The World Table Tennis (WTT) governing body and streaming platform Migu, a digital subsidiary of state-owned telecoms company China Mobile, have announced a four-year extension of their media partnership.

As part of the partnership, which was first signed in 2021 in a four-year deal, all WTT Series events will be live-streamed across China on Migu until the end of the 2028 season.

The partnership covers WTT’s Grand Smashes, WTT Champions, WTT Star Contenders, WTT Contenders, WTT Finals, and the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals.

Steve Dainton, ITTF and WTT chief executive, has said: "Migu has been an incredible partner in helping WTT reshape the way table tennis is seen, streamed, and celebrated in China.

"Their energy and commitment to digital innovation have matched our ambition from the start. With this long-term deal, we’re unlocking a future of deeper fan connection and non-stop global competition."

Table tennis is among the most popular sports in China due to the country’s levels of success, having won five gold medals and one silver at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
