WSC Sports, the sports-focused AI-powered video content provider, has completed the acquisition of the Engines 365 fan engagement solution from Infront Lab, the technology arm of the Infront sports and media agency.
The acquisition will allow WSC Sports to expand its tech offering with the Stream Engine OTT platform for streaming service management and the Content Engine social media content management system, allowing clients to ramp up their digital fan engagement activities.
Beyond the deal, WSC Sports will continue to collaborate with Infront Sports on consultancy services for client rightsholders and the advancement of OTT technology solutions.
Infront Labs as an independent business will subsequently be dissolved, with WSC Sports taking on much of its employee base, and the majority of the firm’s existing client contracts.
WSC Sports chief executive Daniel Shichman stated: “By integrating Infront Lab’s innovative technology stack with our AI-powered content automation platform, we’re creating an unmatched solution for rights holders navigating today’s complex digital landscape.
“This acquisition strengthens our mission to help sports organizations build thriving digital ecosystems that capture value throughout the entire fan journey.”
Amikam Kranz, Infront’s senior vice president for media, betting, and technology, added: “As a leader in digital transformation, Infront Lab has consistently delivered cutting-edge technology that redefines fan engagement.
“WSC Sports is the perfect home to take these innovations to the next level. We’re excited to continue collaborating with WSC Sports around custom-built OTT streaming solutions and consultancy services to meet the evolving needs of our clients and the wider industry. Overall, this new setup provides all our existing partners with the highest level of continuity.”
Over 490 leagues, teams, and broadcasters – including ESPN, YouTubeTV, the NBA, Bundesliga, LALIGA, and Serie A – use WSC Sports’ AI-powered technology.
In late 2024 WSC Sports agreed a half-decade tie-up with French soccer’s elite Ligue 1 and second-tier Ligue 2 competitions.
Over the last few months, WSC Sports has announced partnerships with soccer competitions such as the top men’s leagues in both the Czech Republic and Belgium. A deal with the National Women's Soccer League in the US, meanwhile, was unveiled in May.
