Media giant Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has renewed its partnership with Global Champions (GC), the organizer of the equestrian show jumping series Global Champions Tour, securing the broadcast rights to its premier equestrian events.

The multi-year partnership ensures coverage of the Global Champions Tour and GCL team series across Europe and Asia through WBD’s range of channels and platforms, including Eurosport in Europe and TNT Sports in the UK and Ireland, with streaming taking place on OTT services Max and Discovery+.

As part of the deal, WBD will also air the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix, both GCL rounds of each stage, and all four days of the Prague Playoffs.

Additionally, two post-season highlights programs will be available via WBD’s linear and on-demand avenues.

Trojan Paillot, senior vice president of sports rights acquisitions and syndications at WBD Sports Europe, said: “By renewing our partnership with the Global Champions, we are pleased to continue building our portfolio of world-class equestrian events.

“By adding even more events from the Longines Global Champions Team and GCL seasons, we are providing year-round coverage of this majestic sport and even greater visibility between Olympic cycles.”

Jan Tops, founder and president of the Global Champions Tour, added: “This renewed partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery is a powerful step forward in our mission to grow the sport of show jumping on a global scale.

“By bringing the Longines Global Champions Tour and League to millions of households across Europe and Asia, we’re not only showcasing top-level sport but also inspiring a new generation of fans and riders. Together, we are expanding the reach, visibility, and impact of show jumping like never before.”

WBD said it is the only broadcaster in Europe to showcase every Olympic equestrian event live until Brisbane 2032.

The Global Champions calendar continues in Shanghai, China, from May 2 to 4, with the season continuing until Prague, Czech Republic’s November 20 to 23 event.
