A major, decade-long deal between international sports data technology provider Stats Perform, and the Volleyball World commercial vehicle, has been struck.

Through a 10-year agreement unveiled today, Stats Perform becomes the exclusive (and global) betting streaming and data rights partner for a range of top-tier men’s and women’s volleyball competitions.

Volleyball World is the commercial vehicle for that sport’s International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) governing body, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, and this tie-up covers FIVB competitions such as the Men's and Women's Volleyball World Championships and Beach World Championships, as well as the annual Volleyball Nations League, and the Beach Pro Tour.

In addition, a range of specific national competitions in markets such as Italy will fall under the deal’s remit.

Volleyball World, established in 2021, had previously been working with Stats Perform’s rival Sportradar around commercializing its betting rights.

Felix von Knorring, Volleyball World’s head of media, has said: “Together with their AI and technical capabilities, strong commitment to fan engagement, and unrivaled network of licensed sportsbook partners, [Stats Perform] provide the perfect platform for us to bring the top-class entertainment of premier men’s and women’s volleyball to the widest possible audience.”

At the end of February, Volleyball World announced a new commercial tie-up with sports technology firm TGI Sport, a provider of digital media solutions, to enhance its broadcast capabilities.

TGI Sport will implement its digital overlay solution in Volleyball World broadcasts, which will allow for the dispersal of tailored broadcast graphics and overlays in any part of the world.

Alex Rice, chief commercial officer at Stats Perform, added: “It [volleyball] is consistently one of the most-viewed events at the Olympic Games and recent data shows it can attract as many bettors as the tennis majors. We are excited to help our clients deliver such captivating year-round content to their users.”

In terms of recent Stats Perform activity, late February saw the firm unveil a deal with Grand Slam Track, the new high-profile athletics league established by American track legend Michael Johnson.

Stats Perform becomes the exclusive global data and betting rights distributor and integrity partner for the new-look athletics competition, ahead of its inaugural 2025 season.

This represents a rare foray into athletics for Stats Perform and a rare betting rights tie-up across the sport in general.
