Broadcast rights to the upcoming Spanish Super Cup competition have been snapped up in Italy, with the Mediapason Group media organization taking linear broadcast rights, while the Cronache di Spogliatoio (Locker Room Chronicles) soccer-focused media outlet has attained the streaming rights.

Mediapason will broadcast the four-team, three-game Super Cup competition free-to-air across Italy on its range of regional networks including Lombardy’s Telelombardia (Channel 10).

Cronache di Spogliatoio, meanwhile, will showcase the games for free on YouTube, where its channel boasts over 483,000 subscribers.

The 2025 Spanish Super Cup will be played across January 8-12, 2025 in Saudi Arabia, with the two semi-finals taking place on January 8 and 9 respectively, before the January 12 final.

The three games will be staged at Jeddah’s 62,345-capacity King Abdullah Sports City Stadium for the second time, the first being in 2020, having been held in the Saudi capital of Riyadh for its last three editions.

In one semi-final, the winner of the Spanish top-flight LaLiga, Real Madrid, will take on the Copa del Rey domestic cup runner-up Mallorca, while in the other semi-final LaLiga runner-up Barcelona will face Copa del Rey winner Athletic Club.

No Italian players currently ply their trade in LaLiga (although Mallorca center back Marash Kumbulla was born in Italy but represents Albania), which is a likely factor as to why the rights have fallen to two outsider networks as opposed to major TV and streaming operators such as Rai, Sky Italia, or DAZN.
