The iconic Sportel sports business conference returns to Miami, US, early next month.
The upcoming event at the JW Marriott Miami in that Florida city across April 1 and 2 will feature a series of exciting masterclasses, visionary keynotes, and innovative presentations, around the latest trends revolutionizing the sports and media broadcast industry.
Topics will cover how the US as the biggest media market in the world is a hub for major sporting events, the revolutionary impact of Generative AI on content creation and fan engagement, how data is an untapped goldmine, the new era in sports streaming, evolving sponsorship models as new revenue generators, and the expansion of European soccer leagues into the US market.
The event will feature a stellar speaker line-up of decision-makers and sports industry disruptors, spanning not only those from North, Central, and South America, but also from Europe, Asia, and beyond.
Sportel Miami follows another event in the US, in New York, in mid-December, with the main 2025 Sportel annual conference as usual set to take place in Monaco, in October.
In 2026, meanwhile, the conference is working on a brand-new destination for the early part of the year, with the aim of broadening Sportel’s reach and continuing to add value to its global community.
Current speakers lined up for the Miami event include representatives from the 2026 FIFA World Cup Miami Host Committee, DAZN, World Rugby, LFP Media, Paramount/Pluto TV, LaLiga North America, OneFootball, and Protocol Sports.
In terms of attendees, these will include delegates from companies such as FIFA, IMG, Infront, the English Premier League, basketball’s NBA, WBD Sports, Major League Baseball, CAA Eleven, BeIN Media Group, Two Circles, motor racing’s Formula E, and Globo.
Agnes Marsan, Sportel Miami’s executive director, has said: “In the coming years, Miami will host numerous national and international sporting events, further cementing its status as a global sports hub.
“Sportel Miami will be a unique opportunity for our community to meet and connect with sports media and tech decision-makers from across the Americas and beyond.”
Miami was not on the Sportel agenda in 2024 – instead, the conference visited Bali in February, and Buenos Aires (Argentina) in May. Both were Sportel Rendez-vous events.
In terms of top-tier sporting events taking place in the Florida city, Miami will host action from the 2026 World Cup, as well as Formula 1 and Nascar motor racing in the years ahead.
