Organizer allrounder reaches for the stars to offer fans the best in freestyle skiing and snowboarding the first European big air double world cup brings winter sports to the city and rounds up the greatest freestyle sports stars. One hundred twenty athletes from 20 nations will compete during the first weekend of December. To be more specific, they will convene at an altitude of 49 meters and therefore on the highest FIS Big Air ramp, which was assembled by NUSSLI.

Channel 4 has acquired exclusive terrestrial rights to the Snowboard World Championships being held in Whistler, British Colombia, January 15-23. Channel 4 will dedicate over five hours of coverage to the championships, complemented by an agreement with digital broadcaster Extreme Sports Channel for extended highlights across UK, Europe and the Middle East. These agreements were negotiated by London-based RDA Communications for international rights owner Wige Media of Cologne.

UK Terrestrial broadcaster C4 has today finalised an agreement to broadcast the FIS Snowboard World Cup for the coming winter. The deal completes C4’s line up of top class winter sports action, including the FIS Audi Alpine Ski World Cup, and the FIS Nordic World Cup.

On June 22nd, 2002 the Board of Directors of the International Snowboard Federation (ISF) voted, with one abstention, to follow the advice of its Executive Committee and declare insolvency of the ISF immediately. The lack of a credible solution to the financial difficulties and the missing support of past partners forced this drastic action. Therefore all ISF operations will cease immediately.
