International sailing series SailGP has continued with its wave of major commercial deals by unveiling a new partnership with worldwide logistics heavyweight DP World.

Through a global smart logistics tie-up announced today, DP World will oversee transport and delivery operations for the SailGP calendar across the next three seasons.

This tie-up begins with the 2024-25 SailGP campaign, which gets underway with the Dubai Sail Grand Prix across November 23 and 24.

It comes less than a week after the series – which will stage 14 races across five continents in 2024-25 – announced a significant extension (for the next five years) and expansion of its commercial deal with the Emirates airline, which includes the brand becoming title partner of the Great Britain Sail Grand Prix.

In terms of partnership assets, DP World will receive prominent branding at all SailGP events, within the race venue and on the boats themselves, as well as virtual branding throughout the racecourse. This latter element, carried out through the use of SailGP’s LiveLine technology, means the sponsor’s branding will be “beamed into households in more than 212 territories globally.”

DP World will also assist SailGP in terms of sustainable event delivery, including through designing a “tailored logistics schedule that follows the regionally-clustered calendar.” The brand will also prioritise sea-freight as a low-carbon transportation method.

The 2024-25 calendar represents an increase from the 12 events across four continents which constituted the 2023-24 schedule.

A quartet of new locations – Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, and Auckland in New Zealand – are on the agenda.

Other significant series sponsors include Rolex as presenting partner, Mubadala as global partner, Oracle as global data partner, and Apex as financial solutions partner.

Earlier this week, SailGP unveiled a second Brazilian broadcast deal, with Globo.

For DP World, meanwhile, this deal signifies an expansion of its already significant sporting sponsorships stable – the brand already has major tie-ups in place across sports such as golf, motor racing, and cricket.

Most prominently, it is the title partner of men’s golf’s top-tier European Tour through 2026.
