McDonald’s, the major fast-food chain, has ended its sponsorship of the Nascar street race in Chicago after two years.

The restaurant came on board as a founding partner of the event in 2023 when the US stock car racing series staged its inaugural street race through downtown Chicago.

Chicago-based McDonald’s is ending its founding sponsorship after two years of a three-year deal, and its logo no longer appears on Nascar Chicago’s partner page.

The move sees Nascar lose a key sponsor as McDonald’s was paying around $2 million annually.

As a Chicago institution and a worldwide brand, McDonald’s provided a local connection to the event, with its famous logo present on the track, on television broadcasts, and across radio promotions.

The remaining founding partners of the street race are ABB, BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois, and Xfinity, all of whom are still listed on the circuit’s website alongside 17 other official partners.

With 2025 marking the final year of Nascar’s current agreement to host the race in Chicago, the McDonald’s withdrawal casts uncertainty on the street race’s future.

In terms of Nascar commercial activity, early December saw the series and Stratasys expand their deal. That company is now the series’ 3D printing partner.
