Premier League giants Liverpool FC (LFC) have agreed a multi-year global partnership with the Visit Maldives tourism body, designating it as the club’s official tourist destination partner.
The partnership covers both the club’s men’s and women’s teams and will see the two entities collaborate on exclusive content, special promotions, and competitions.
As part of the deal, fans will have the chance to win a five-night trip to the Maldives, including flights and accommodation, through a MyLFC competition.
Ibrahim Shiuree, the chief executive officer and managing director of Visit Maldives, said: “Partnering with a club as iconic as Liverpool FC, who share our core values to drive positive change towards a more sustainable future, is a proud moment for Visit Maldives.
“Together, we’ll be able to offer exclusive opportunities and experiences, bringing the magic of the Maldives to millions of passionate fans around the world. We’re particularly thrilled about the MyLFC competition and the chance to give one lucky fan the trip of a lifetime.”
The deal is not the tourism board's first foray into soccer club sponsorship, following 2019's $2.7 million deal with Spanish LaLiga club Celta Vigo.
Liverpool's previous tourist destination partner was the Mauritius Tourism Board, in a deal signed in 2020.
Earlier this week Liverpool also confirmed a lucrative new long-term kit supply deal with German sportswear giant Adidas from the 2025-26 season.
The brand will take over as the Premier League club’s kit supplier when US rival Nike’s five-year contract expires at the end of July.
In terms of other major commercial partners, Standard Chartered Bank, the British-based financial services firm, is Liverpool’s front-of-shirt sponsor, while travel website Expedia is the club’s sleeve sponsor, with both deals running through the 2026-27 season.
