The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has partnered with YouTube, the Google-owned global video platform, to expand coverage of the upcoming Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
The deal, which covers the games from August 28 through to September 8, will involve the Paralympics YouTube channel providing its most extensive coverage of the event.
This will include live coverage from all 22 Paralympic sports including the opening and closing ceremonies, multi-view streams where up to four streams can be viewed simultaneously, daily clips and highlights, YouTube Shorts focusing on sporting moments, and up to 40 athlete feature films, and a three-part docuseries following 12 para athletes from 11 countries as they prepare to compete in the games.
The Paralympic YouTube content will be available for free across 175 territories and complement official broadcasters’ coverage.
Mike Peters, IPC chief executive officer, said: “By teaming up with YouTube for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, we will maximize the worldwide reach of the event, engaging new audiences in the performances of Paralympians.
“YouTube’s coverage of the Paris 2024 Paralympics will complement the work of our 160+ official broadcasters. In terms of coverage, Paris 2024 will be the most accessible Paralympic Games in history.
